Art Exhibition

To celebrate Richmond Borough Mind’s 60th year providing support and advice, we took on the challenge of launching an art exhibition. The curation saw contributions from local artists, both amateur and professional, exploring the relationship between art and mental health.

I was involved from conception to completion, from pitching to creation of promotional materials, information boards, formatting of artwork and poetry. We partnered with a number of local community organisations as well as our existing services to showcase the diverse stories of mental health problems. Where the artist agreed to their work being made available for sale, the charity would also benefit from a portion of the sales.

As part of the art exhibition, we ran an art competition amongst local schools to showcase students work at the gallery and engage young people in conversations around mental health. We complemented this offering with mental health assemblies and workshops which aided the charity’s engagement in the lives of local young people.
